What is Not The Wifey Type?

NTWT is a space to escape the constant barrage of directives Black women receive. From our speech to our dress, our mannerisms to our hair, what we do stays a topic of debate. And our labor stays sustaining whole communities.

But who are Black women when we’re not bending, stretching, contorting ourselves solely in the interest of  others?

Highly Intelligent Yet Relatable

I love how real and down-to-earth these podcasts feel. It’s clear that Kayla is an academic who is capable of relating to the everyday black woman through her personalized experiences and topics she has researched. She presents real topics that are otherwise discouraged to discuss or value. More of us should have these intellectual conversations between sisters, girlfriends, or even a mother to her daughter. Each podcast and guest speaker encourages me to think differently about how I view myself and challenges me to reflect on my interactions with others. I truly I am a better version of myself after listening to the Not The Wifey Type podcast.

Highly Recommended!!!

Absolutely love how this podcast centers the experiences of the Black Woman! I enjoy the way the platform is set up and how the content is delivered. It has exposed me to so many ideas I’ve either never considered or given much thought. So excited for the next season!

This Podcast is What I Needed!

This podcast is truly amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever been able to relate to something so much in my life! More importantly, this podcast helped me realize that I haven’t been requiring much of the people around me. This podcast is exactly what I needed!

Be A Guest

NTWT is the personal blog of an ever introspective Black woman. I care most about maintaining the integrity of Black womanhood. Relationship gurus and charlatans abound, telling us how to act, dress, think, move, breathe if we want any chance at “keeping” a man.
